Tony Rider is a lifelong resident of beautiful Dahlonega Georgia, sight of America’s first gold rush in 1828. Dahlonega sits at the southern tip of the Appalachian Mountains. As a boy Tony started making his own bows out of hickory and shot homemade arrows from sourwood sprouts he found. As a young teenager he purchased a Ben Pearson Hunter recurve bow. He practiced for hours on end and killed his first deer at age 15. From that day on he was hooked on the traditional recurve bow.

Tony has had a lifelong love of the outdoors and was fortunate to have worked for the U.S. Forest Service for thirty one years. As Tony says: ‘not many people get to do what they love for a living?” Having owned a number of custom made recurve bows over the years he decide to build his own. He took the best characteristics from each and implemented them into his design. Thus Drop Tine Custom Bows was born. By building a shorter riser and longer working limbs the result is a smooth drawing, hard-hitting bow that doesn’t stack. Drop Tine Bows are know for their stunning beauty and great shooting characteristics but Tony insists that accuracy be a priority in his bow. As an avid hunter, Tony will tell you that nothing is more important than a properly placed arrow.

The beautiful exotic woods that are used further compliment the great shooting characteristics of Drop Tine Custom Bows. All bows are built one at a time to the customers’ request making them truly custom.

Hope to hear from you soon!
